The Miter Saw

IMG_1477.jpg

This Miter Saw is nothing fancy. I use it for breaking down rough lumber, and that is about it. This is because its tolerances are nowhere near that of my table saw. I would rather use a more accurate tool and get the job done right the first time than try to trim my workpiece until it's the perfect length and has a perfect 90 degree corner. Another reason that I don't love using this saw is because it's very loud whereas my table saw is much quieter.

Because the only task I use this saw for is the occasional breaking down of rough lumber, I used this saw for a while with no dust collection, but I realized a few years ago that I needed to improve my dust collection situation, so I hooked the saw up to my central dust collection system and now dust collection is no longer a problem for the miter saw.
