The Router Table
My router table is a Bosch free-standing table that I retrofitted into an old cabinet. I use the router table for creating special profiles, trimming parts flush to each other, creating straight and square edges, and many other tasks. The router table can accept a wide range of bits, making the list of possible profiles virtually endless. One thing to keep in mind when using a router table is to always feed against the rotation of the cutterhead. This way you will have far greater control over the piece because it will be less likely to snag on the bit
The router table is one of the larger dust producers in my workshop so my fence has a dust collection port built in and when I retrofitted the portable table into my permanent cabinet, I kept the door on the cabinet to keep the dust inside the cabinet where it can be much more easily managed.
