Shaker Lap Desk

I decided to build this lap desk when I saw the plans for it in Fine Woodworking Magazine. The design is by Christian Becksvoort, but I made a few changes to the internal dividers to make it more useful to me.

This piece was fairly straight forward. I milled the lumber to final dimensions, dovetailed it, assembled it, sanded, made the breadboard lid, did some final finish prep, then finished out with a danish oil finish. The sides are Sapele and the top is cherry with bookmatched breadboard ends.
